Trip to Kausani...

The treks usually start with a talk... and the they graduate to phone calls and emails and more phone calls and a lot of driving before the real thing gets tasted...What started between me and Robin as a casual conversation thinking of a long weekend turned out to be a bliss for a gang of 8 people.. no, I am not trying to take the credit for anything, but still am happy to be one of the people who can initiate this kinda spirit in people... the rest is done by the ones who want to...So we talked to Varun, Sonia, Vivek, Ishaan, Shavani amongst some others... some dropped out and some could not go.. and some were ready...We started from Jaipur@ 0200 hrs in a Tavera arranged by one of our travel and foodie guy, Ishaan ... Reached Delhi @ 0800 hrs... met Mom after a loooooooong time and ha a good breakfast. coming from a thick layer of fog has its own experience.... Tavera, a good suv to look at and pretty comfortable as well.. but wat i realized later is that you rather have a 8/9 seater Qualis to travel, coz it gives you more space and options to sleep... Well i could sleep like a log at the back of the other qualis which was a 9 seater...Anyway... I charged my cell and the camera battery... packed my stuff in a bag... forgot the jacket, and MP3s.. and started on a looong journey to Kausani...We were hoping to reach Kausani in about 10 hours, however a few issues ate up some of our time... also helped us experience , one of the most stupid drivers etc etc...We finally reached Kausani~ 2130 hrs on Saturday... and decided to do born fire without wasting much time... Kausani provides 337 Kms. panoramic view of Nandaghunti, Trishul, Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, Panchachuli etc. The highest points near Kausani are Pinnath (5 Kms.), Bura Pinnath (5.5 Kms.) and Rudradhari (7 Kms.) The famous Hindi poet Sumitra nandan Pant was born in Kausani. Mahatma Gandhi came Kausani in 1929 and impressed by the serenity wrote a book 'Ana-Shakti Yoga". The house in which he wrote the book is now known as the 'Ana-Shakti Ashram". We stayed at KAUSANI VILLAGE RESORT, Near Tea Garden
Kausani, Distt: Bageshwar

yogesh_ntl2004@yahoo.co.in is a wonderful guy and made our stay feel lik home away from home. The accomodatio in the log huts was awesome.
Each hut is offering a breathtaking view of ethnic snow capped mountains, tea garden & deep valley surrounded by the lush green forest. The huts are made of wood in spite of the Ethnic look, the Resort is fully furnished with all requirements of the life. The place is tremendous for those who are real nature lover and want the heart touch of nature, every moment.
